Terms of Use
Effective 7 November 2026. Plain language, kept short.
1. Agreement
These terms apply to the Clearbay app for macOS ("Clearbay"), its online services (rule updates, Pro licences and sign-in) and this website. Clearbay is made by NepTechPal. Clearbay Pro bought on this website is sold by Bisai Technologies, LLC (see section 3). In these terms, "we" and "us" mean NepTechPal and, for purchases on clearbay.app, Bisai Technologies, LLC. By using Clearbay or buying Clearbay Pro you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains what data is used and why, and our Refund Policy explains refunds.
2. App Store purchases
The Clearbay app is a free download distributed only through the Mac App Store. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA) is your licence for the app and for any in-app purchase, including Clearbay Pro bought in the app. For in-app purchases, Apple is the seller. These terms add details about our online services and do not reduce any rights the standard EULA gives you. Payments and refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple; request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
3. Purchases on clearbay.app
You can also buy Clearbay Pro on this website. This section applies to those purchases.
- Seller and payment. The seller of Clearbay Pro bought on clearbay.app is Bisai Technologies, LLC. Payment is processed by Stripe through Stripe Checkout. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us.
- Price and tax. Clearbay Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and there are no recurring charges. The price is the launch price shown on this site. At checkout it is shown in US dollars (USD), including any applicable tax, before you pay.
- Delivery. Clearbay Pro is delivered digitally and immediately. After payment, the thank-you page and your receipt email (from [email protected]) contain an Open Clearbay button that unlocks Pro in the app. On your other Macs, open Clearbay → Upgrade → Sign in with your purchase email and the 6-digit code we email you.
- Pre-orders. Until Clearbay is available on the Mac App Store, a purchase on clearbay.app is a pre-order of Clearbay Pro. You can unlock Pro as soon as you install the app. If you no longer want it before launch, ask us and you get a full refund.
- Licence. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Clearbay Pro on up to 3 Macs at a time per purchase. Signing out on a Mac frees its slot. You may not resell, transfer or share your purchase or its unlock links and sign-in codes.
- Refunds. You can get a full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked. See the Refund Policy for details.
- Revoking Pro. We may turn off Clearbay Pro for a purchase that is fraudulent, that is refunded, or that is reversed through a chargeback.

4. Your files and backups
Clearbay only acts on items you choose, after you review the plan and click Run. Remove moves items to the Trash. Offload copies items to the drive, bucket or folder you choose, checks the copy, and then removes the original from your Mac.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping backups of anything important, for example with Time Machine. An offloaded copy is a move, not a backup: if the only copy lives on a drive that fails or a bucket you delete, it is gone.
- The storage you choose: its reliability, its terms, and any costs your cloud or storage provider charges.
- Reviewing each plan before you run it.
5. AI explanations
AI explanations and suggested plans are generated on your Mac by Apple Intelligence and may be wrong or incomplete. They are labelled as such in the app. Safety labels come from Clearbay's built-in rules, not from AI, and AI cannot select anything the rules don't allow. Treat explanations as a helpful hint, not professional advice, and decide for yourself.
6. Online services and fair use
Don't attempt to overload the online services or use them for anything other than Clearbay. We may change or stop the online services, for example if a provider changes its terms. Clearbay's core features (scan, Remove, Offload, restore) work without them.
7. Acceptable use
Don't reverse engineer the online services or use Clearbay to break the law or another provider's terms.
8. No warranty
To the extent the law allows, Clearbay is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We work hard to keep your data safe, but we can't promise the software is free of errors or that it will work with every drive, file system or provider.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, NepTechPal and Bisai Technologies, LLC are not liable for loss of data, profits or business, or for indirect or consequential damages, arising from your use of Clearbay. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Clearbay in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you; your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will update the effective date above and say so in the app or on this site. Continuing to use Clearbay after a change means you accept it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection law of the country you live in.
12. Contact
